Experienced Opponents

I have mentioned it before, but betting with opponents with a higher VirginGaming rank means you will be playing with a player that has an advantage on you, as playing for cash in the beginning is far more nervy than playing regular online games. Teams & Formations


Make sure you have custom made formations ready in different FIFA for cash scenarios. You should obviously also understand how to play with them and what quick tactics to use in certain situations. 

For example, if you are up against a person who has scored and he is just passing it around in his own half (see heading beneath).

Maybe your up against a team with worse passing skills than you, then apply a tight high pressure formation.

Or if you are up against fast counter attackers, you should  use an offensive tight high pressure formation, with 3 defenders. But keep in mind, with this strategy you need to let the counter player roam free on the outside and hold off your own box until help arrives (your advantage should very quickly be vast). Going up against fast counter attacks, you could also insert a 5-2-3 formation (with offensive players on the sides such as Yayo Toure, Alves, Richards, Evra, even midfielders such as Fabregas). It sounds defensive but it is actually highly offensive.

So when should you play more defensively? I wouldn't recommend it as it gives the opponent a high pressure position, and this enables more mistakes by your players. If you are playing with formations with more people in the back when playing FIFA for cash, you should have great dribbling skills and an superb ability to get out of seriously tight positions.





Overcoming Ball-holders after conceding

Fascinating how many people complain about this on Virgin Gaming. In all honesty, a skilled player overcomes this easily. If you hold the ball after scoring, or if you cannot grab the ball if someone holds it, you are simply not good enough to remain with a profit when playing FIFA for cash.

Here is what I do. I firstly apply "High pressure" and "Ultra attacking". If I have the chance, I will insert my custom 3-3-4 attacking formation (2 offensive midfielders + 2 central attackers + 2 outer attackers).





Boosting player skills

If you are a fairly decently ranked player, you have probably come across players that have abnormal strength, skill and speed at times. Having high possession with FIFA (11 and 12)  amps up your own players attributes, and decreases the opponents, this is also the feeling after scoring a goal. Some players use this to hold the ball a few minutes after kickoff to gain 100% possession. As a result they get abnormally strong, and many players refer this as some kind of hack or cheat.
